Pebble Smartwatches Have Officially Entered India. Prices start atRs. 5, 999.
The company that made smartwatches popular has entered India.
These smart watches are compatible with Android phones as well as iPhone.
Pebble Technology Corp, the makers of Pebble, which is the first smartwatch that had its Kickstarter project back in 2012, has announced the entry into India. The First Pebble, now called Pebble Classic, will be available at Rs. 5, 999. Other models including the new Pebbled Time, Pebble Time Circular, and Pebble Time Metallic is likewise available at Rs. 9, 999, Rs. 13, 599, and Rs. 12-15, 999 respectively.

Indian users have always been open to adopting new technologies especially in mobile, ” said Eric Migicovsky, Founder & CEO, Pebble. “Hence, we see a promising future for Pebble in India. Our unique products offer the amazing experience at an affordable price. In conjunction with our India launch, we are also taking a look at establishing a linked community of users and developers in India.”
Last week in a conversation with Devices 360, Richard said the company is already sponsoring a series of hackathons hosted by AngelHack in Mumbai (May 7-8), Hyderabad (May 28-29), Delhi (June 11-12), and Vizag (June 18-19). With these hackathons, Pebble should reach over 1000 builders across India, and “ensure there is relevant and locally created content for new users. ”
Pebble smartwatches include an e-ink screen and these can be used with both Android OS smartphones and iPhones. While the Pebble Classic comes with a black-and-white screen, the time range of devices sports a color screen with LED backlight. Earlier this week, Pebble pushed out an update to Pebble Well-being, which provides users increased information via graphs on the companion smartphone software, better auto-detection of goes and long walks, and new activity insights in the Time-series of wristwatches, as well as Wise Alarms.
The Pebble smartwatches have a dedicated iPhone app store, that has over 13, 000 programs and watches faces. The Pebble CEO said there are already over 20, 500 Pebble users in India, and with a standard online occurrence in India, the company hopes to capture a bigger talk about of the Indian market.
